About Me
I have been an instrumental music teacher in NJ since 2002, having taught every grade from
PreK-12 as well as graduate school. While teaching full-time, I earned my Ed.D. in Music and Music Education from Columbia University. Teaching Philosophy
My teaching is rooted in a sound-first, musicality-driven approach influenced by the teachings of world-renowned pianist Dr. David Witten and legendary trumpet pedagogue William Adam. Rather than focusing on tension, mechanics, or over-analysis, lessons emphasize producing a beautiful sound, playing with ease, and developing natural musical flow.Students are guided toward efficient technique through listening and playing musically from the very beginning. This approach builds confidence, consistency, and long-term success while reducing physical strain and performance anxiety.Every lesson is individualized to the student’s goals, experience level, and learning style. Whether learning for the first time, returning to after time away, or preparing for auditions, students are supported in developing both strong fundamentals and expressive musicianship.
